The boiler, brew head and filter holder are made of solid brass. This ensures even and consistent heat conduction AND retention throughout the system. It also has a powerful steam supply, making it child's play to produce delicious, dense milk froth for cappuccinos. The top of the machine acts as a cup warming plate. Brass Boiler
Made from heat distributing brass, this boiler can get up to temperature quickly and stay there, with a fast recycling time. Unlike cheap aluminium boilers, it is more resistant to limescale build up and corrosion. Two thermostats control the temperature for espresso and for steam, and a third that specifically monitors the boiler to protect it form overheating.
Quality Brewing Group
The grouphead is made of chrome plated brass. Based on the design of Ascaso's commercial espresso machines, the Steel grouphead evenly distributes heat and reduces 'hotspots' for a more consistent espresso. It has also been designed to dispense water uniformly across the coffee grounds for a better extaction.
16 Bar Water Pump
The secret to the perfect espresso is a water pump that generates enough pressure on the coffee grounds to extract the full flavour from them. The Steel pump performs excellently, producing upto 16 bar of pressure and regulated by an OPV (over pressure valve), unleashing all the coffee's delicate flavours.
Quality Portafilter
Keeping with the tradition of using only commercial grade components, the Steel uses a heavy-duty chrome plated brass portafilter. The portafilter is fitted with a removable double spout; and is supplied with a single and double shot 57mm diameter stainless steel filter basket.
Cup Warmer and Drip Tray
The Steel has a warming surface on top of the machine that keeps your espresso cups warm so your freshly brewed espresso does not cool too quickly once it hits the cup. Underneath is a removeable stainless steel drip tray for catching any mess you happen to make.
2 Litre Water Tank
For an espresso machine of this size, the Steel is equipped with an ample size water tank. As it holds 2 litres of water the Steel should not need refilling when in use. However, if you do need to, the water tank is easily accessable.
