An Espresso Pod is a bag of ground espresso similar to a tea bag. Each Pod contains approximately 7 grams of coffee and makes a single serving of espresso. 

All you do is place the Pod in the filter basket and brew normally. Different Pods have different grinds and types of coffee and could therefore vary in extraction time.
